text: | Konyaks were, on the whole, not pollution conscious. Menstruating women continued their normal activities and cooked for their husbands and families. Married couples normally abstained from sexual intercourse for five days, but not from any fear of pollution, and unmarried girls were sometimes persuaded to sleep with their lovers even at the time of menses. |
