If a man dies before his son marries and the widow and children remain in the house, the eldest son takes over the house on marriage, his mother and younger brothers and sisters continuing to treat it as their home. A younger son marrying when his parents were well on in years, may also take over their house and support them. This often happens in the case of a hangseoki-kazeipeo; his youngest son remains in his father's house after marriage and in the course of time takes over his father's office. The labour of building a new hangseoki encourages this course. |
