to all men to whom this present writing indented shall come Rich Harlakenden of Earls Colne in the county of Essex esq sendeth greeting be it known that the said Rich Harlakenden for and in consideration of 20li lawful money of England to him in hand paid by sir Edw Wortly of Halstead in the county of Essex knight doth by these presents give bargain and sell to the said all that portion of tithes whatsoever arising growing or renewing in the parish of Halstead in the county of Essex belonging or appertaining or reputed or taken to be belonging or appertaining to the late Priory of Colne in the said county of Essex and which amongst other things were granted bargained and sold to the said Rich Harlakenden and his heirs by the right honourable Edw earl of Oxford deceased by his deed indented bearing date the seventh day of february in the four and thirtieth year of the reign of our late sovereign lady queen Elizabeth of happy memory 7.2.34Eliz1 and which are now in the occupation of sir Edw Wortly knight as executor in the right of Eliz his wife of sir Sam Tryon knight and baronet deceased her late husband and the said Rich Harlakenden for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth by these presents covenant and grant to and with the said Edw Wortly his heirs executors and administrators that it shall and may be lawful to and for the said sir Edw his heirs and assigns peaceably and quietly to have hold perceive receive take and enjoy the said portion of tithes and all and every part and parts thereof without the lawful let denial interruption or disturbance of the said Rich Harlakenden or any other person or persons lawfully claiming by from or under him in witness
