costs and expenses about the reparation of the manor of Barwicke of which he accounteth in money paid to a man for felling of timber for the same by a bargain made in gross 2s and in money paid to two carpenters to repair the gatehouse with two chambers and one privy to the same adjoining together with bricking and groundselling from logeshepene and the stable with one underframe there taking in gross in the month of may this year 36s8d and in money paid to a man to dig marl for the same for four days taking 20d a day 5s and in money paid with meat and drink 4d a day 16d and in money to a man carrying the same marler with his cart three days taking 20d a day 5s in money paid to a man there daubing and labouring this same month this year twenty seven days taking with meat and drink 4d a day 9s and in money paid for four quarters of lime bought to the same use for every quarter 12d in the whole 4s and in money paid to the carpenter to repair the grange there to wit to put two bays called granges or two walshes (sic in latin) and the groundsell to the end of the same the same month this year for fourteen days taking by the day 5d1h with meat and drink 6s5d and in money paid to Thos Skinner tiling there five days taking 6d by the day by a bargain made with him in the month of august this year 2s6d and in money paid to one that served him the same time taking by day 4d 20d and in money paid to Steph Smythe for carrying timber to the same two days taking 2s by day 4s and in money paid to a man going with the cart the same time 5d by the day 10d and in money paid to Steph Smythe carrying four quarters of lime from Ballydon to Berwicke with meat and drink 2s and in money paid to Jn Filbrigge for three thousand tile bought for the same the price of every thousand 3s4d in the whole 10s and the carriage of the said tile from the tilekell of Earls Colne even to the said manor of Berwicke in gross 12d and in money paid for one     of lime bought of Jn Berdfield of Ballidon for the same use 3s8d
