upkeep and expenses around the mill of Colleford and for one millstone bought of Thos Godeston for the same 66s8d and a payment to Jn Wyndefore for the strengthening of the floodgates there taking gross by an agreement made with him 53s4d and a payment to Jn Nyghtynghale for his cart carting clay for the same for seven days taking 16d per day with food and drink 9s4d and a payment to a certain man for digging the said clay and loading the said cart for the same said time taking 4d per day etc 2s4d and a payment to Steph Smyth for his cart similarly there to cart the said clay taking for seven and a half days as above etc 10s and a payment to a certain man for digging the said clay for carting by Steph himself for two days etc taking 4d a day with food and drink 8d and a payment to Jn Nyghtynghale for his cart being used to carry timber within Chalkney for the same for one day 2s and a payment for two men there at the time for work for carting the same said timber for one day taking with food etc 8d and a payment to the said Jn for carting the said timber out of Chalkney as far as the said mill for two days taking 20d per day etc for the same 3s4d and to Steph Smyth for his cart for the same said time taking as above 3s4d and a payment to Jn Nyghtynghale for his cart carting the said millstone from Colchester as far as the said mill 2s and a payment both for a customary payment thereof and for the expenses of the said Steph being there three times for the said millstone and other necessaries of the said lord and for carriage and other expenses thereof 3s3d and a payment to Lance Snawdon walsheman for digging the mill pond there taking gross by an agreement made with him 8s4d and a payment in the expenses of Steph Smyth being there to supervise the works around the said work and going to conduct the said operation of the same for eleven days taking 4d per day altogether 3s8d and a payment to Jn Nyghtynghale carting the clay out of Wyldfeld as far as the said mill for four days taking 16d a day altogether 5s4d and a payment to Robt Ifeld digging the said clay there for four days taking 5d per day with food and drink etc 20d and a payment to Jn Sowhete for one pin bought for the said millstone 4s4d and for window nails for the same 2d and for a hundred and eight waternayls bought for the same from the same 3s4d and for eighty fastenings for the flashes bought for the same millstone from the same 16d and for the lednaylls bought from the same 1h and a payment to Lance Walsheman and three of his helpers working there about the said floodgates for four days taking for each of them per day 5d above food and drink etc 6s8d and a payment to Jn Cobbe for oiling the running of the said mill for one day 5d and a payment to Robt Ifeld working there for ten and a half days taking per day as above 4s2d1h and a payment to Wm Hey labourer working there for twelve days taking per day as above 4d1h altogether 4s6d and a payment to Wm Stowe working there for ten and a half days taking thus per day etc 3s11d and a payment to Thos Boure labourer working there for ten days taking per day 5d 4s2d and to Jn Grene sawyer working there for twelve days taking per day 4d altogether 4s and Rich Avis for the digging of earth and clay for the said floodgates there for five days taking 5d per day 20d and Wm Carter working there for four and a half days taking per day 5d 22d1h and Wm Heldere working there for three days taking per day 4d 12d and Jn Bryd working there similarly for two days taking 4d per day altogether 8d and Steph Smyth for his cart carting old wood from the said mill as far as the said priory 4d
