at a court here held thursday being 24.12.1589 Jn London and Kath his wife were admitted tenants of the lord for themselves and the heirs of their bodies between them legitimately procreated and in default of such issue the remainder thereof to the same said Jn London and his heirs forever to one tenement with garden adjoining called Sextons Tenement lying in the aforesaid Colne viz between a tenement sometime of Antho Sparrowe on one part towards the west and the king's highway there called The Priory Way towards the east one head thereof abutting upon the king's highway there towards the south and the other head thereof abutting upon a croft of land called St Marie Croft towards the north as by a copy of the same said court here in full court produced and clearly shown now to this court came the aforesaid Jn London and Kath his wife and Kath herself solely and secretly examined by the lord's steward according to the custom of the said manor surrendered into the hands of the lord the aforesaid tenement and other premises with appurtenances by the hands of the lord's steward to the use and behoof of Thos Harlakenden gentleman and his heirs who present in court sought for himself admittance thereof to whom the lord by his said steward granted thereof seisin to have to the same said Thos and his heirs to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine as is shown in the margin and made fealty to the lord and was admitted thereof tenant of the lord
