monday being 24.9.1599
Roger Bridge
was admitted tenant of the lord for himself and his heirs to 1a of land more or less called
Costelsted
lying in Fordeham viz between land late of
Robt Whitehead
on the western part and land late of
Jn Ildby
on the other part towards the east one head thereof abutting upon land late of
Robt George
towards the north and a lane leading towards
Hamondes Mill
towards the south as by the metes and bounds etc and according as and by a copy of a roll of that same court here in court produced and clearly shown now to this court came the aforesaid
Roger Bridge
and the court sitting and in open court surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of his steward all and singular the aforesaid premises with appurtenances to the use and behoof of
Rich Bridge
his son and his heirs and assigns forever who the same said

his father and deputy came and sought for himself admittance to the premises according to the aforesaid surrender to whom the lord by his aforesaid steward granted thereof seisin to have to him and his heirs to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine as is shown in the margin |
