it is shown by the homage that Rich Wade customary tenant of this manor after the last court and before this court surrendered into the hands of the lord of the aforesaid manor by the hands of Roger Brownnson instead of the bailiff in the presence of Jn Brownson and Jn Brewer customary tenants of this manor the same testifying according to the custom of the aforesaid manor all that messuage in which he now lives and also one orchard and two closes of land lying against a lane leading from Great Tey towards the aforesaid Colne on the southern part of the said messuage and also one half of a croft of land illegible text and also illegible text of a croft of land with appurtenances called Burtons with a barn thereon built lying in Earls Colne aforesaid and a certain croft illegible text one head abutting upon Lewgory Field and lying between illegible text called Conisby on one part and the king's highway illegible text on the other part to the use and behoof of Jn Wade his son his heirs and assigns upon which to this court came the aforesaid Jn Wade in person and humbly sought from the lord of the said manor admittance to the aforesaid premises illegible text according to illegible text aforesaid surrenders thereof whereof the lord of the manor by his aforesaid steward granted thereof seisin to him to have and to hold the aforesaid premises with appurtenances in the aforesaid manner and form from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine and made fealty and was admitted thereof tenant of the lord and afterwards sitting this present court returned the aforesaid Jn Wade in full and open court and surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of his aforesaid steward all and singular the aforesaid premises with appurtenances to the use and behoof of the aforesaid Rich Wade his father for the term of his natural lifetime the remainder thereof to the aforesaid Jn Wade and his heirs forever and upon this the aforesaid Rich Wade in person came into this court and humbly sought from the lord admittance to the aforesaid premises in the aforesaid manner and form to whom the lord by his aforesaid steward granted thereof seisin to him to hold to himself the aforesaid premises as stated above from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine and made fealty and was admitted thereof tenant of the lord
