whereas at a view with court here held 9.8.1576 Jn Potter was admitted for himself and his heirs to a common pasture of a grove of waste lying in White Colne called Much Readinge as by a roll of the same said court here in court produced it is clearly shown now at this court it is shown by the homage that the aforesaid Jn Potter customary tenant of this manor after the last court and before this court surrendered into the hands of the lord of the aforesaid manor by the hands of Walt Procter instead of the bailiff in the presence of Thos Leffingwell and Jn Potter two customary tenants of the said manor the same testifying according to the custom of the aforesaid manor the aforesaid common pasturage of the grove of wood by name all that grove of wood lying and being in White Colne called Much Readinge immediately after the death and decease of the aforesaid Jn Potter to the use and behoof of Jeff Potter one of the sons of the aforesaid Jn Potter and Eliz Fasted whom the aforesaid Jeff by the grace of god intends to take as his wife and the heirs of the aforesaid Jeff by the aforesaid Jeff to be procreated upon the body of the aforesaid Eliz and in default of such heirs the remainder thereof to the next heir of Jeff himself forever upon which to this court came both the aforesaid Jn Potter and Jeff Potter and the aforesaid Eliz and humbly sought from the lord admittance to the aforesaid premises to whom the lord by his aforesaid steward granted to them seisin thereof to have the aforesaid premises to the aforesaid Jn Potter for the term of his life and after the decease of the aforesaid Jn Potter to the aforesaid Jeff and Eliz and the heirs of the aforesaid Jeff to be legitimately procreated upon the aforesaid Eliz the remainder thereof as above to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and they gave to the lord their fine and made fealty and were admitted thereof tenants of the lord and afterwards the court sitting came the aforesaid Jn Potter and surrendered the aforesaid premises and all his rights in the same into the hands of the lord to the use and behoof of the aforesaid Jeff and Eliz and the heirs of the aforesaid Jeff in the aforesaid manner and form who the same said Jeff and Eliz present here in court humbly sought admittance to the aforesaid premises to whom the lord by his aforesaid steward granted to them seisin thereof to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and they gave to the lord their fine and made fealty and were admitted thereof tenants of the lord
