whereas at a court held for the aforesaid manor 27.5.last it was shown by the homage of this court that Barth Church gentleman was lately seised for himself and his heirs among other things of and in certain customary lands held by copy of a roll of court of this manor viz of one tenement with garden adjoining called Mugges alias Princes situate and lying in Colne Church St viz between a tenement called The George and a tenement late of Barth Church lately pertaining to the Priory convent of Colne called Tredgolds on the western part and that he himself being thus seised thereof in .4.1623 committed the crime of murder on a man and for the same said offence he was attainted by outlawry at the suit of our lord the king and now by reason of the said felony and attainder he is found to have forfeited the aforesaid tenement and other premises among others to the lord of this manor as by a roll of court here cited above it is clearly shown by which same pretext the aforesaid premises the tenement and other premises among others were seised into the hands of Rich Harlakenden esq lord of the aforesaid manor and he himself is thus lawfully seised thereof now at this court by his grace he specifically granted out of his hands the aforesaid tenement with garden called Mugges alias Princes to Jn Church gentleman the natural brother of the aforesaid Barth and his heirs to whom the same said Jn Church present here in court the lord by his aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have to him the aforesaid Jn his heirs and assigns forever to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents customs and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he made fine and fealty and was admitted
