to this court came Wm Greene and Helen his wife being customary tenants in right of Helen herself to one half of an aldercarr called Gosfen and three crofts of land lying in the parish of Colne Engaine and White Colne called Cotcrofte held by copy of a roll of a court of this manor and they surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of the aforesaid steward Helen herself solely and secretly examined by the steward as is the custom the aforesaid half of the aldercarr and three crofts of land and all their right title and interest whatsoever in the aforesaid aldercarr and three crofts of land to the use and behoof of the aforesaid Wm and Helen for their lifetimes and to the longer liver and after their decease to the rightful heirs of the said Helen forever to whom the same said Wm and Helen the lord by the aforesaid steward granted thereof seisin by the rod to have the aforesaid half of the aldercarr and three crofts of land to Wm Greene and Helen his wife for their lifetime and to the longer liver and after their decease to the use of the rightful heirs of the said Helen forever to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and the aforesaid Wm and Helen gave to the lord their fine and made fealty to the lord and were admitted thereof tenants
