whereas at a court here held 24.7.last Thos Smyth surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of his aforesaid steward certain lands and tenements called Loshes and Fowlemeade to the use of the said Rich Harlakenden lord of the aforesaid manor and his heirs forever upon condition of payment of certain sums of money at a certain day and place contained in the aforesaid surrender as by a roll of the aforesaid court it is clearly shown and appears now at this court the lord present in court recognised himself to be satisfied of the aforesaid sum of money and each parcel thereof and by the aforesaid steward granted the aforesaid lands and tenements out of his hands to the aforesaid Thos Smyth and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have the aforesaid lands and tenements to the aforesaid Thos Smyth and his heirs forever exonerated of the aforesaid conditions to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed upon which came here into court the aforesaid Thos Smyth and surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of his aforesaid steward the aforesaid lands and tenements by name one messuage 4a of land 4a of meadow and 20a of pasture called Loshes and Fowlemeade with appurtenances to the use and behoof of Roger Harlakenden gentleman and his heirs forever to whom the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have the aforesaid messuage lands and tenements and other premises with appurtenances to the said Roger Harlakenden and his assigns forever to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents customs and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine etc
