whereas at a court here held 9.8.1620 Hen Clench gentleman and Jane his wife were admitted tenants of the lord for themselves and the heirs of their bodies legitimately procreated the remainder thereof to the rightful heirs of the said Hen to one cottage or messuage lately built and to 20a of land more or less with appurtenances called Sandhills as by a roll of the aforesaid court here in court produced it is clearly shown now at this court it is shown by the homage that the aforesaid Hen Clench after the said court and before this court died thus seised thereof and that the aforesaid Jane holds for herself for her lifetime by right of accretion and that the aforesaid Hen Clench and Jane have heirs of their bodies legitimately procreated viz two daughters Jane and Helen living at this time upon which to this court came the aforesaid Jane Clench survivor of the said Hen and surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of the aforesaid steward the aforesaid cottage or messuage and 20a of land with appurtenances to the use and behoof of Roger Harlakenden gentleman his heirs and assigns forever to whom the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have the aforesaid cottage and other premises with appurtenances to the aforesaid Roger Harlakenden and his heirs forever to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine etc
