and furthermore at this court it is testified by the aforesaid steward and shown by the homage that Roger Harlakenden gentleman customary tenant of the aforesaid manor after the last general court and before this court viz 26.6.1635 came before the aforesaid steward and out of court surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of the said steward one parcel of meadow called Hunwickes Meadow alias Bridge Meade containing by estimation 3a lying in Earls Colne or in White Colne to the use of Edw Clarke of Earls Colne yeoman and his heirs and assigns forever upon consideration however and with this intention that the aforesaid Edw Clarke his heirs and assigns should make such surrender and legal assurances of the premises and any parcel thereof to such person or persons as the aforesaid Rich Harlakenden esq lord of the aforesaid manor and Godfrey Bossevile esq or either of them by any writing of their hands or either of them should assigns nominate or appoint and similarly upon consideration and with this intention that the aforesaid Edw Clarke his heirs and assigns should allow the aforesaid Rich Harlakenden and Godfrey Bossevile or either of them to receive and take all rents and profits thereunto accruing until such surrender shall have been made without any interruption or demand by the aforesaid Edw Clarke his heirs or assigns upon which to this court came the aforesaid Edw Clarke and sought admittance to the premises to whom the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have to himself and his heirs upon the consideration and aforesaid intention to hold from the lord etc and he made fine and fealty
