and furthermore at this court it is shown by the homage that Edw Elliston who held for himself and his heirs one piece or parcel of a certain field called Mellfield containing by estimation 1a2r as it is now divided lying in Sible Henningham being on the eastern edge or corner of the said field and lying between the kings highway towards the south and the parcel of Ashbridgfield and Leyfield towards the north as by a court roll bearing the date 17.2.1631 it appears after the last court viz 8.6.1641 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Edm Brewer and Barth Heyward two customary tenants of the aforesaid manor the same testifying the aforesaid parcel of land with appurtenances to the use and behoof of Jn Elliston his son his heirs and assigns forever who present in court humbly sought admittance to whom the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the aforesaid parcel of land with appurtenances to the aforesaid Jn Elliston his heirs and assigns forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging etc and he gave to the lord for a fine etc
