whereas at a court here held 21.4.1636 Dionisia Hawksby wife of Jn Hawksby clerk and Sarah Hawksby now wife of Jn Beareman were admitted viz the said Dionisia for her lifetime and the aforesaid Sarah for herself and her heirs in remainder after the death of the said Dionisia to one croft of land called Mordens with appurtenances as by a roll of the aforesaid court it appears now at this court it is shown by the homage that the aforesaid Dionisia before this court died upon which came into court the aforesaid Jn Bearman and Sarah his wife and Sarah herself solely and secretly examined by the steward as is the custom and agreeing and surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of his aforesaid steward the aforesaid croft of land with appurtenances to the use and behoof of Ralph Josselin clerk his heirs and assigns who present in court humbly sought admittance to whom the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the aforesaid croft with appurtenances to the aforesaid Ralph Josselin his heirs and assigns from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord for a fine
