Jn Wade and Jane his wife to a messuage and garden | at this court it was presented by the homage that Thos Fisher a customary tenant of the said manor since the last court that is to say upon 14.8.1657 did surrender into the hands of the lord of the said manor by the hands of Wm Adams the elder instead of the bailiff and in the presence of Robt Carter and Thos Osborne two customary tenants of the said manor the same witnessing according to the custom of the said manor all that his copyhold messuage or tenement and garden with the appurtenances lying in Holstreet in Earls Colne then in the tenure or occupation of Jn Layer or his assigns to the use and behoof of Jn Wade and Jane his wife and the heirs of their bodies lawfully begotten or to be begotten forever which premises the said Thos Fisher did take to him and his heirs at a court held for the said manor upon 16.1.1650 which said Jn and Jane his wife being present in court desired to be admitted tenants to the premises to whom the lord of the said manor by his said steward did grant and deliver thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said messuage or tenement and premises to the said Jn Wade and Jane his wife and the heirs of their bodies lawfully begotten or to be begotten of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents and services due and of right accustomed and they gave to the lord for their fine and the said Jn did his fealty |
