whereas at a court held for the said manor 16.4.21Jas1 Steph Nettles clerk was admitted tenant to him and his heirs to all those lands customary in Earls Colne called or known by the name of Bomes otherwise Bomefeilds or by whatsoever other name or names called containing by estimation 11a more or less with the appurtenances upon part whereof a messuage and certain buildings have been lately erected now at this court it was presented by the homage that the said Steph Nettles since the last court that is to say upon 23.3.1658 did surrender into the hands of the lord of the said manor by the hands of Wm Adams instead of the bailiff and in the presence of Jas Day and Rich Fisher two customary tenants of the said manor the same witnessing all the said messuage lands and premises with the appurtenances to the use of Xoph Matthew his heirs and assigns forever who being present in court did desire to be admitted tenant to the said premises to whom the lord of the said manor by his said steward did grant and deliver thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said messuage lands and premises with the appurtenances to the said Xoph his heirs and assigns forever of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents and services due etc and he gave to the lord for his fine
