Robt Newton to a cottage late of Wm Sprigg | and afterwards into the same said court and in open court the aforesaid Jn Ruggles by the rod surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of his aforesaid steward the aforesaid tenement with appurtenances by name one tenement or cottage and one curtilage with appurtenances late of Wm Sprigg to the use and behoof of Robt Newton of Earls Colne his heirs and assigns forever to whom the same said Robt present here in court and seeking this the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the aforesaid tenement or cottage and curtilage with appurtenances to the aforesaid Robt his heirs and assigns forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord for a fine and made fealty |
