admission of Wm Brewer | whereas at a court here held 1.1.1659 Jn Brewer was admitted for himself and his heirs to one messuage called Burtons with an orchard adjoining the same and six closes of land containing by estimation 10a more or less and to one cottage lately turned into a barn now at this court it is shown by the homage that the aforesaid Jn on 20.4.25Chas2 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Thos Trotter instead of the bailiff and in the presence of Mich Heyward and Giles Crow two customary tenants of the aforesaid manor according to the custom of the manor the aforesaid premises with appurtenances to the use and behoof of Wm Brewer gentleman and Wm Brewer the son and heir apparent of the aforesaid Wm their heirs and assigns forever upon which came here into court Wm Brewer senior and Wm Brewer the son by the aforesaid Wm in this part as attorney or deputy and humbly sought from the lord admittance to the premises for themselves as tenants to whom the lord by his steward granted and delivered seisin thereof by the rod to have and to hold the premises with appurtenances to the same said Wm Brewer senior and Wm Brewer the son and their heirs and assigns from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and they gave to the lord for a fine etc |
