at this court it appeared to the homage that Jas Jay 15.8.1678 surrendered by the rod into the hands of the lord by the hands of Jn Keable instead of the bailiff in the presence of Giles Crow and Rich Fisher two customary tenants of the manor aforesaid etc all that his customary messuage or tenement and garden called Higgens to the use of his last will etc
