at a court held 5.5.1704 Mehitabel wife of Gabriel Rule was admitted to one cottage with garden adjoining once Wayte's next to the vicarage of Earls Colne and at a court held 2.8.1704 it appeared that the said Gabriel and Mehitabel on 6.5.1704 she solely examined and consenting surrendered by the hands of Jn Eldred esq steward the said premises to the use of Jn Weston of Faulkborne Essex yeoman his heirs and assigns on condition that if the said Gabriel and Mehitabel or their heirs executors or assigns pay unto the said Jn Weston his executors etc the sum of 21li4s on 7.5.1705 then the surrender void now at this court came the said Jn Weston and gave the court intelligence that the said sum had not been paid at the said day and remains unpaid and he petitioned admittance and he was admitted and gave fine and saving the right etc
