at a court held 16.2.1714 Eliz Smith widow was admitted to two orchards one lying on the north part of a free tenement there containing 2r and the other lying on the east part of the said messuage or tenement and containing 40p and to 20a of land or pasture particularly mentioned described with abuttals in the will of Ralph Josselin clerk deceased late father of the said Eliz and after at the same court she said Eliz surrendered the premises to the use of her last will now at this court it appeared that the said Eliz Smith died after the last court upon which came Gilb Smith a son of the said Eliz and showed the will of the said Eliz dated 23.11.1714 the tenor concerning the premises in the following words item I give and devise all that my messuage or tenement wherein I now dwell with the yards gardens orchards waste ground lands and tenements thereunto belonging as well freehold as copyhold with the appurtenances now in my own occupation and in the occupation of Ann Raven widow lately purchased of my late brother in law mr Edw Day and Mary his wife to be sold by my executor herein after named with all convenient speed after my decease and I do hereby give him full power and authority to sell the same and lastly I do nominate and appoint my said son Gilb Smith sole executor of this my last will and testament as shown etc upon which the said Gilb Smith was admitted etc and gave fine
