at a court held 28.12.1676 Jn Cressener gentleman was admitted to one meadow called Hunwick Meadow alias Bridge Meadow containing by estimation 3a and at a court held 11.12.1677 the said Jn was admitted to one messuage anciently two tenements situate in Holt Street between a tenement of the said Jn Cressener and a tenement then Robt Hutton's with a yard garden and appurtenances belonging to the messuage and at the same court the said Jn was admitted to one field or parcel of land called Chippin and to all that messuage then late built and one piece of land late parcel of Chippin containing 7a3r16p with appurtenances and at a court held =.3.1683 the said Jn was admitted to a cottage or tenement called Middle House with the buildings yards and gardens thereto belonging and at the last court held 30.4.last it appeared that the said Jn died after the last court and that while alive on 4.7.1715 he surrendered by the hands of Sam Burton instead of the bailiff in the presence of Jn Hatch and Robt Harris all his customary messuages lands tenements etc to the use of his last will etc now at this court came Eliz Cressener widow of the said Jn by Edw Cressener gentleman her attorney in this part and showed the last will of the said Jn dated 25.1.1709 the tenor concerning the premises in the following words viz item all other my messuages lands tenement and woods freehold and copyhold with their and every of their appurtenances situate lying and being in the parishes of Earls Colne Colne Engaine White Colne or in any of them now or late in my own occupation or in the occupation of Robt Sandall Abraham Lay and Jn Hull or any of them or of any other person or persons whatsoever I give and bequeath unto Eliz now my loving wife for and during the term of her natural life and after her decease unto my said brother Edw Cressener and his heirs as shown by the will etc and upon this the said Eliz Cressener by her said attorney was admitted etc and gave fine for her admittance only but fealty was respited
