at a court held 25.6.1695 Edw Johnson was admitted to three parcels of land with appurtenances called Goffen alias Gosses containing 7a and lying in the parishes of White Colne and Colne Engaine held of the manor by the rent of 6s which premises the said Edw surrendered to the use of his will at a court held 1.4.1706 now at this court it appeared that he died about the last court so seised upon which came Eliz Frith and showed his last will dated 2.6.1722 the tenor concerning the premises in the following words item I give and devise unto Eliz Frith another of the daughters of my said nephew Edw Frith and to her heirs forever all that my parcel of land called Gosses lying and being in White Colne and Colne Engaine in the said county of Essex or in one of them which I purchased of Jn Nutman paying unto the said Edw Frith and Mary his wife her father and mother out of the said lands and tenements for and during their natural lives and the life of the survivor of them yearly and every year the sum of 3li and she was admitted etc and gave fine
