at a court held 4.6.1717 Edw Cressener gentleman was admitted to one aldercarr called Tilekiln Fen lying between a croft called Well Croft on one part one head abutting on parcel of Lowfield and the other head on the highway at Tilekiln by metes and bounds divided and to one cottage with appurtenances called Middlehouse once Eliz Brown's situate in Holt Street and to one messuage or tenement and garden belonging called The George situate in Earls Colne then in the tenure of Robt Warren and held by the annual rent of 6s which premises the said Edw surrendered to the use of his will at a court held 11.4.1721 now at this court it appeared that the said Edw died about the last court upon which came Eliz Clifford widow by Thos Sewell gentleman her attorney and showed the last will of the said Edw dated =.4.1722 the tenor concerning the premises in the following words viz I give unto my daughter Eliz Clifford and her heirs forever all those my lands tenements and estate as well freehold as copyhold whether in possession or reversion lying and being in the parish of Earls Colne in the county of Essex except that I have hereinafter disposed of and she was admitted to Tilekiln Fenn also to a cottage called Middlehouse also to a messuage called The George with appurtenances etc and gave fine etc
