it is shown by the homage that

who held for himself and his assigns as of this manor by the rod etc 1a of land called
Costelsted
lying in Fordham namely
which he held for his life the remainder to
after the last court he died thus seised of such estate and to this court came the aforesaid
Robt Middelton
by
as his attorney in this matter and sought admittance to the said 1a of land with appurtenances according to the tenor stated and expressed in the said remainder and because examination was further made by the homage of the court roll and it was found therefore he was admitted thereof tenant of the lord to whom by the steward the lord delivered into the hands of his attorney to hold to himself and his assigns from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord and he gave to the lord his fine as is shown in the margin
and made fealty to the lord
