April: 22. Went to my Lady Honywoods , met good and honourable company, baptised my Ladies daughter Martha , the first person of that quality; god good to me in the exercise thereof, god has hitherto helped, lord still uphold them; at night had the company of Mr Wright an unexpected guest, but welcome, I may find like kindness from others.

[Rosebuds:] wee had damask rose buds in our garden before the middle of April this year 1646.
