22: I rode to Colchester to advise with my Cousin Josselin the steward, who advised me to press the mortgagers to surrender to me, our Kent and Bentalls act was good for nothing whereupon I rode to Cogshall, and spoke with them and found them very willing to do any reasonable demand, whereupon I sent to the steward who came over unto us
