September: 20: This week the Lord was gracious to me and mine in our peace, health, and plenty, in helping us in our race, in preserving and delivering me to temptations the praise and the glory thereof be given unto him for the same: yet I was troubled with a pose, and rheums exceedingly, god in his due time can strengthen me again them, it is but a light affliction unto what others meet withal, the season was exceedingly windy and wet: the Lord was good to me in the duty of the Sabbath, and in my labour therein he in mercy accept me, and make the word useful; I gave notice of a day of thanksgiving on Tuesday following: on Monday September. 14: 1646 the Noble Earl of Essex died. his death is a great weakening to the Peerage of England;
