4: Came home safe to god be praise, and received a penny at my own door as a poor man, being unknown to all mine; found my wife had continued ill of her ague, and Maries come to(o) every day. Mrs Mary had been a tender nurse to mine in my absence, the day was cold I was weary, and somewhat sore, but my greatest trouble was my swelling in my groin, on both sides but I hope through mercy it will not long continue,
