27. This week the lord who afflicted me, was very good and gracious to me in giving me inward peace and content of mind under his hand, and in the apprehension of his smiles and goodness upon me, through christ in the pardon of my sins and accepting of me, which was a sweet support unto me; the lord began to perfect his mercy in raising both of us upwards, my cold somewhat abated, I preached twice through mercy, and found no prejudice though the day was bitter cold god is as able to preserve me in the open Church as in my close chamber when he calls me out to perform his service therein.
