May: 7: This week the Lord was good and merciful to me, and mine, in our health, peace, preservation, only in this day my wife very ill with a fit of a fever, occasioned, by being bound, and so hindered in her rest, and distempered: the lord good in preserving me from gross sins, but my heart is subject to unevenness, and vanity, and haste, and in my haste to speak rashly, lord in mercy pardon me, and direct me I entreat thee the lord was good to me in the duty of the Sabbath, enabling me with strength and making the word sweet, and savoury, the lord in mercy accept me, and bless the word that it may profit many.
