9. This day rode to Castle Hinningham, preached the lecture, on Cant. 1. 3. dined at the ordinary with the gentlemen, who paid my ordinary, god was good to me in my journey outwards and homewards, to his name by praise. [Rye blasted:] Among all the several judgements on this nation: god this spring in the latter end of April when rye was earing and eared, sent such terrible frosts, that the ear was frozen and so died, and comes to nothing: young ashes also that leaved were nipped, and blackened, and those shoots died, as if the lord would continue our want, and penury, we continuing our sins.
