August. 30: 1648. after the route of Hamilton , taking of Colchester, discovery of the City plot, when all our fears seemed gone, and our enemies hopes quite dashed.

the rain that fell caused a flood: the Suffolk forces went home yesterday all the residue of the army was drawn up in a body, and almost all the Essex forces were disbanded: the prisoners were many of them sent to Kelvedon this night.
