June. 3. This week the Lord was good and merciful to me, and mine, in our peace health plenty, in the season whereby the earth is refreshed with dews, and this day was very warm and comfortable, I gave 8s.2d. for a score of indifferent beef, the lord was good to me in my health, and the health of my family, my navel through mercy continued well since May: 25: my neighbour Goodwife Burton was very ill, the Lord in mercy restore her unto health for his name sake, the lord was good to me in keeping from some temptations and vanities with which formerly I have been overtaken oh let no iniquity have no dominion over me for thy most holy name; I spent a little time in my Hebrew did a little in my meditations and reconciler to Deut: 12: and spent some time in Sleidan, where I observe the strange progress of the gospel in Germany and other places many princes and families renouncing the pope, and of late years none have, neither has the gospel any entertainment in Spain, Italy. Sicily, and in the territories of the Venetians, I did somewhat in Medes discourses, the good lord forgive my many sins, and sanctify my heart, and give me to honour thee in all my ways for ever.
