18: rode up towards London, saw my uncle Ralph Josselins children, whom god has preserved under that troublesome disease of the smallpox, god was good and merciful to me in divers providences, keeping me safe, seeing my friends, dispatching my business according to my hearts desire, in a great measure; I caught no cold in my journey, divers discourses about the school, I hope god has allotted it to me, the subcommittee voted me 43li. per annum augmentation, the issue of this business I shall wait with patience,
