June. 29. This week the lord renewed his goodness to me in many particulars, the lord spared the town this week, so that I hear of no spreading of the smallpox. the lord was pleased to keep my heart more free from any annoyances of spirit than formerly for which I bless and praise his holy name. but sudden forwardness in the apprehension of others failing seizes me. whereas it is my duty then to be silent, this I preach, but it is the grace and strength of Christ must help me or I cannot attain it, god was good to me in the Sabbath for which I was unprepared I preached twice on Phil. 14. 13.
