September. 7. This week past, the Lord was good to me, and mine in all our outward mercies, but my heart frame is not accordingly. old thoughts, and vain, sinful imaginations put up their head, and that in such a time as this, when the judgements of god should awe, and his mercies melt my spirit into love and tenderness, lord help me for unto thee does my soul take itself. heard after sermon of the taking of Worcester. 6000 prisoners. 2000 more slain, even in the place of prayer I heard it god good to me this day, though I sinful and unworthy.
