Sept: 5. The lord was very good and gracious to me, and all mine in all our outward mercies for which I desire to acknowledge his goodness and bless his most holy name, the season continued very dry, but through mercy cold to what it was formerly. my heart much stayed on gods goodness in his Christ towards me a sinner, yet I find it yielding under the assaults of Satan, though often bearing up against them. my heart full of expectations of great troubles likely to come on England, the lord be our protection, god was good to me in the work of the day for which I bless his most holy name,
