Sept: 26: The lord continues sadly to afflict us, many die of apoplexies, the lord good in my preservation and my families, my son John very ill with cold and rheum, the lord spare him, and let his life be precious in his sight, the good lord accept me and rejoice over me for good, oh keep me under thy wings and feathers from sin and evil: the season very dry, little rain has yet fallen, last night god in mercy gave us a very great shower, that moistens many grounds, the lord was good to me in making me sensible of his goodness, my own emptiness, nothings, let me dwell upon it oh lord every day more and more(.) the lord was good to me in the Sabbath he in mercy accept of me and do me good
