Feb. 27. The Lord good to me and mine in all our outward mercies, the season cold, and wintery some frost, and snow, and therein seasonable, water very scarce, most of our ponds and wells even dry. oh lord affect our dead hearts, and awaken us from under our drowsiness, and sleepiness of spirit, through mercy the lord makes me sensible of great things doing, but my heart is not easily raised up to converse with god, my heart is dead in my ministerial work. it runs much in my mind that Mar. 3. next may be a great and strange day with Englands parliament. Lord you alone are my trust let me never be ashamed I pray to thee,
