May: 8: This week past the lord was good to me, and mine in our outward mercies, which the lord our god continue, the 3 last days the season was very hot, which causes much corn already to fade at the root, much talk in these times and very false, men striving how to put others in fear, the lord uphold my heart in uprightness for him alone do I trust, my heart is very much shut up in prayer, lord when will you enlarge it, oh that my spirit were fixed, thoroughly thrown on thee at all times. this day was cool, heard of the hopeful recovery of my uncle Josselin , the lord was good to me in the work of the Sabbath for which I praise him.
