Feb: 24. god good to me and mine in many outward mercies, my heart vanities return within the few days, I pray thee, slay the rebellion of mind, and let all be in subjection to thy self, god gave me a peaceable Sabbath, blessed be his name, persons in this corner, much withdraw from the word, mens minds unsound(.) there is fear of Portugal, that he will break with us, and thereby our fleets miscarry for want of his ports, said Cromwell , took his leave of Montague in the morning and then spent the day alone in prayer.
