16: god heard prayer in respect of the season and after many dews this morning gave us a growing rain, the lords name be blessed for it; this day Mrs Eliz. Harlakenden was baptised, god good to me in the duty, my heart raised up to hope that god would bless me, even me also in my poor posterity, I was ill used in words by R.A. the elder, my heart was calm, lord pity us under our affliction and scorn and help me with patience, Jo Humfry with me, hoping to have seen his son Tho: who was dead and buried the Wednesday before. lord look after mine in all their goings out and comings in I pray thee.
