15. Though I know gods ways have a depth in them beyond my reach, and that after days will discover than I yet know not, yet pondering in my mind why god laid out my lot at Colne, and not near Peterborough, or about Olny where I married, I find god called me from those places of trouble, war and tumult to this where I have had peace but one day by Goring , and why from Cranham(,) my life was precious to him, there was a great mortality of that people, and if I had been near London, I might have been in more danger from the men of the times, oh I will love the lord who takes care of me in my ways.
