Feb. 15. clear but frost, snow and cold, god good to us in manifold mercies, another house visited with the smallpox, mine preserved, lord let all your dealings be sanctified, god good to me in the word preached, the lord make it an effectual blessing to us all.

[Hard Winter.] This winter was the hardest I ever remembered, very wet and cold in octob. November on the 24th day whereof it began to freeze and so continued frost and snow very hard, until Feb. 18th. it began to thaw much but the frost scarce full out of the earth,

and this 23. Feb. a little frost again: 27. to this day frost; so. 28: March. 1. snow lying in my gutter. hence goodly weather
