18. dined with Sr. J. Jacob visiting his house at Halsted where he was 7 or 8 years ago very low, pinched for many years with the Kings debts, not knowing scarcely how to provide for his family, which he bore to my view with prudence. patience and submission to god, now he is in a very old age, full disposing his children high in the world, paying debts, clearing all. and cheerful(.)
