was admitted tenant of the lord for himself and his heirs by a grant from the lord to one parcel of waste field of this manor upon which was built one cottage containing in length 5rod and a half and in breadth to one head 2rod and to the other 1rod1y one head abutting to the north the other head thereof abutting towards the south and lying lengthways between the croft called
Chalkney Fields
on one part towards the east and the kings highway leading from Colne towards Great Tey on the other part towards the west held by the rent of 6d per annum as is made clear by a certain copy of a court roll of this court produced and shown now it is shown by the said homage that since the last court and before this court the aforesaid
Hen Humfry
surrendered all and singular the premises with appurtenances into the hands of the lord by the hands of
Wm Addams
clerk instead of the bailiff in the presence of
Thos Wade
and
Robt Peartree
two customary tenants of this same manor the same testifying according to the custom of the said manor to the use and behoof of
Roger Brownson
and his heirs forever to whom the same said

present here in court the seisin thereof is granted to have to him and his heirs to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor by the said rents and by other services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine and fealty and was admitted tenant thereof
