Rachel Heyward
was admitted tenant of the lord for herself and her heirs to on the eastern boundary viz a holding of the croft called
Masons
containing in length 37f viz as far as the house together with the stable barn and garden lying on the north and on the western boundary a certain tenement being parcel of the aforesaid messuage with appurtenances called Masons lying between the church of Earls Colne aforesaid and the kings highway leading from the said Colne towards Halstead on the north part as is made clear by a certain copy of court roll of this court produced and shown now it is shown by the said homage that after the last court and before this court the said

then wife of

died seised of such of her estates and premises and that

aged 9mths is her son and next heir to whom the same said

his father and deputy seisin thereof is granted to have to himself and his heirs to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he paid his fine and was admitted tenant thereof and because the said

the son is under age as above therefore custody of his body and the said lands is given to

until the said son should reach his age of eighteen years giving to him food clothing and other of his necessary estates and for such custody thereof he gave his fine as is shown
